Overview

Apprentice Level: The Mfg Apprentice (MG) is an entry level position that to be utilized as a training role for inexperienced employees hired to learn the machining craft.  The goal of the Mfg Apprentice will be to learn to operate basic manual machinist equipment to fabricate parts and performing repairs within budgeted time and at "HAECO Americas" standards of quality.

 

MECHANIC I: 

Operate basic machine shop equipment fabricating parts and performing repairs within budgeted time and at HAECO standards of quality.

 

MECHANIC II:  Operate machine shop equipment fabricating parts and performing repairs within budgeted time and at HAECO standards of quality, serving as a resource for lower level Mechanics to learn basic manual machining functions.

 

MECHANIC III: Operate machine shop equipment fabricating parts and performing repairs within budgeted time and at HAECO, FAA, and our customers' standards of quality. The Mfg Mechanic III performs basic programming and operates CNC Machines and is responsible to work in a safe manner eliminating waste and delivering a quality product on time. Performs Mech I and II functions in addition to Mfg Mechanic III functions.

MECHANIC IV:  By using samples and prints, design requested parts using CAD/CAM system to produce C.N.C. code to fabricate aircraft parts in a production environment.  Must perform tasks within budgeted time within HAECO, FAA, and customers' standards of quality.  The CNC Programmer is responsible to work in a safe manner eliminating waste and delivering a quality product on time.  The Mfg Mechanic IV performs Mech I, II, and III functions in addition to Mfg Mechanic IV functions. 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

APPRENTICE LEVEL:

  1. Perform work as assigned utilizing routine and/or non-routine work cards and/or service bulletins within estimated or budgeted hours and within FAA and HAECO standards of quality with assistance from more experienced machinist.
  2. Perform typical machine shop operations, operate milling machines (horizontal and vertical), operate lathes, drill press, hydraulic press, grinders.
  3. Perform layout and prepare shop drawings as required.
  4. Must learn metal identification.
  5. Understand and maintain HAECO and customer aircraft maintenance documentation programs.
  6. Use and operate safely all appropriate hand tools and other machinery associated with the machine shop.
  7. Read and use blue prints, structure repair manuals, illustrated parts catalogs, ATA code and service bulletins.
  8. With direction of other experienced machinists, assist with performance of maintenance and/or repairs as appropriate.
  9. Keep own and adjacent work area clean, and perform with other assigned machinist weekly shop clean-up.

 

MECHANIC I:

  1. Performs lower level Apprentice functions in addition to below duties.
  2. Perform work as assigned utilizing routine and/or non-routine work cards and/or service bulletins within estimated or budgeted hours and within FAA and HAECO standards of quality with minimal assistance from more experienced machinist.
  3. Perform typical machine shop operations, operate milling machines (horizontal and vertical), operate lathes, drill press, hydraulic press, grinders.
  4. Perform layout and prepare shop drawings as required.
  5. Must be knowledgeable in metal identification.
  6. Understand and maintain HAECO and customer aircraft maintenance documentation programs.
  7. Use and operate safely all appropriate hand tools and other machinery associated with the machine shop.
  8. Read and use blue prints, structure repair manuals, illustrated parts catalogs, ATA code and service bulletins.

  5. Must be knowledgeable in metal identification.
  6. Understand and maintain HAECO and customer aircraft maintenance documentation programs.
  7. Use and operate safely all appropriate hand tools and other machinery associated with the machine shop.
  8. Read and use blue prints, structure repair manuals, illustrated parts catalogs, ATA code and service bulletins.
  9. Assist other machinists in performance of maintenance and/or repairs as appropriate.

MECHANIC III:

  1. Performs lower level Mechanic functions in addition to below duties.
  2. Perform typical CNC and Manual machine shop operations, perform basic programming, setup and operate CNC/Manual milling machines (horizontal and vertical),     perform basic programming, setup and operate CNC/Manual lathes, drill press, hydraulic press, and grinders. Perform layout and prepare shop drawings as required.
  3. Must be knowledgeable in metal identification.
  4. Understand and maintain HAECO and customer aircraft maintenance documentation programs.
  5. Promote a culture of safety by monitoring self and others to assure all duties are performed within the guidelines as specified by the HAECO Team Member Safety Manual.
  6. Act as a training resource by assisting less experienced mechanics as needed.
  7. Keep own and adjacent work area clean, and perform with other assigned machinist weekly shop clean-up.
  8. Read and use blue prints, structure repair manuals, illustrated parts catalogs, ATA code and service bulletins.
  9. Keep own and adjacent work area clean, and perform with other assigned machinist weekly shop clean-up.

 

MECHANIC IV:

  1. Perform work as assigned utilizing routine and/or non-routine work cards and/or service bulletins within estimated or budgeted hours and within FAA and HAECO standards of quality.
  2. Perform typical CNC and Manual machine shop operations, program, setup and operate CNC/Manual milling machines (horizontal and vertical), program, setup and operate CNC/Manual lathes, drill press, hydraulic press, and grinders. Perform layout and prepare shop drawings as required using CAD/CAM system to produce CNC code for multiple machines (mills and lathes) for multiple personnel.
  3. Must be knowledgeable in metal identification and tooling requirements for a production environment.
  4. Understand and maintain HAECO and customer aircraft maintenance documentation programs.
  5. Promote a culture of safety by monitoring self and others to assure all duties are performed within the guidelines as specified by the HAECO Team Member Safety Manual.
  6. Act as a training resource by assisting less experienced mechanics as needed.
  7. Keep own and adjacent work area clean, and perform with other assigned machinist weekly shop clean-up.
  8. Read and use blue prints, structure repair manuals, illustrated parts catalogs, ATA code and service bulletins.

 

Qualifications

JOB QUALIFICATIONS – ALL LEVELS

MINIMUM:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have own tools as required by company tool list.
  • Read, write and understand the English language.
  • Must be able to learn to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, repair manuals, etc.

 

ADDITIONAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS – BY MECHANIC LEVEL

Mechanic I – Minimum of 1 year shop experience in similar environment

Mechanic II – Minimum of 2 years shop experience in similar environment

Mechanic III and IV - Ability to demonstrate skills listed in above Essential Job Functions, Conversational Programming would be a plus.
