  • Overview

    JOB SUMMARY:  Performs supplier-related activities to ensure compliance with HAECO Cabin Solutions quality standards. Supports APQP activities and ensures quality launches of new and modified product. Monitors supplier performance and issues corrective actions to ensure continuous improvement of direct material suppliers, and their sub-tiers.

                                       

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

    1. Responsible for any supplier-related activities affecting HAECO Cabin Solutions Quality.
    2. Evaluate, audit, strategize and develop suppliers through regular supplier visits, planning meetings and APQP tools.
    3. Conducts periodic and special surveys of supplier facilities and manufacturing process to determine adequacy and capability of quality control and ability to comply with complete specifications.
    4. Track supplier performance through monthly KPI, and drive “Zero Defect” mentality within the supply base.
    5. Utilize supplier Scorecards/metrics and analytical tools to quantify performance levels of individual suppliers and work with those suppliers to develop improvement plans to achieve 100% quality performance.
    6. Will identify gaps to goals and collaboratively develop and support countermeasures and activities to close the gap and exceed targets.
    7. Champion problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances.
    8. Perform and Evaluate First Article Inspections per the requirements of AS9102 as well as train suppliers to meet client's expectations.
    9. Interfaces with Quality Engineers, inspectors, production associates, and suppliers to resolve customer complaints resulting from supplier-related quality problems.
    10. Initiates supplier-related 8D's to resolve nonconformance, delivery, warranty and/or other performance issues as necessary, communicates with the relevant QE and/or supplier, and ensures timely closure and effectiveness.
    11. Teams with Purchasing to develop suppliers through interviews and/or plant visits.
    12. Participates in Purchasing/SQE departmental meetings to aid in organizational planning, reach objectives, and review Supplier Quality Assurance activities, results and policies.
    13. Participates on APQP teams to launch new products per HAECO SQE Structure. Includes supplier development as applicable, internal documentation, supplier-related documentation, gaging requirements, including Run @ Rates, PPAP runoffs, etc.
    14. Performs or directs the inspection of purchased direct materials as needed, supports in the processing and disposition of supplier non-conformances, and initiates supplier charge backs to recover significant costs of quality associated with poor supplier performance by utilizing 6 Sigma and other quality tools as applicable.
    15. Facilitating change management for supplier related activities/changes. Perform product launch activities (when applicable) for customer in accordance with APQP/PPAP guidelines.
    16. Monitor supplier product launch quality activities (when applicable) for customer in accordance with APQP/PPAP guidelines.
    17. Monitor and support in approval process of supplier PPAP's for Engineering Changes (new and modified parts), interface with plants, projects, and customers as necessary.
    18. Plans and ensures Safety, Processes and Equipment are within local and corporate standards and requirements.
    19. Maintain and update HAECO Cabin Solutions supplier quality database to reflect all new and current suppliers providing services to HAECO Cabin Solutions.
    20. Support and supply data as necessary pertaining to daily MRB meetings.
    21. Compliance with all Internal and External Production Quality Management Systems and Group Directives.

    Qualifications

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

    MINIMUM

    1. BS Degree in Engineering or Business or equivalent related quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
    2. 5 years’ experience in Aerospace Quality Engineering or related field or previously demonstrated experience within HAECO.
    3. Advanced use of Excel or other related software for trend analysis and generation of quality metrics is desirable.
    4. Must have ability to read and comprehend blueprints, specifications, engineering documents and other technical data.
    5. Adept at critical thinking utilizing advanced problem-solving skills, situational analysis, investigation and following up.
    6. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
    7. Must be capable of organizing and presenting materials in front of groups for project status and/or training purposes.
    8. Ability to work with minimum supervision, in a dynamic team environment.
    9. Must be available to work flexible schedule as job requirements dictate.
    10. Domestic travel may be required approximately up to 50% annually.
    11. Read, write, speak and understand the English language.

     

    PREFERRED:

    1. ASQ Certified Quality Engineer certification.
    2. Working knowledge of AS9100 Quality System and AS9102B First Article Requirements
    3. Aerospace/ Automotive industry experience Internal Auditor Certification.
    4. Lean, Six Sigma, Green/Black Belt experience is a plus.
    5. Demonstrated knowledge and utilization of quality management tools, such as; Value Stream Mapping, capability studies, SPC, Control Plans, Kaizen, 5S, Statistical Analysis, Root Cause analysis tools (8D), Corrective Action Systems, Error Proofing, Robust Design, FMEA, and Cause and Effect Diagrams.
    6. Measurement and test experience.
    7. General working knowledge of CMM/FARO/ROMER inspection equipment.
    8. Working knowledge of GD&T.
    9. High integrity and an unyielding commitment to compliance.
    10. Working knowledge of aerospace interior components is a plus.
    11. Working knowledge of composites, plastics, metals and soft goods is a plus.
    12. Proven ability to lead cross-functional high-performance teams.
